Before I can show you Wednesdays post I need to first show you how to make a farmhouse style frame. This is a great craft to learn how to do. There are so many different things that can be done with these frames not to mention they make awesome gifts! For todays post I am just going to add a picture of my sweet boy to the frame, but I plan on doing something a little different on Wednesday.
Materials:
- Any size picture frame from Dollar Tree (Try to find one with cool details around the frame)
- Waverly chalk paint in a color of your choice (I’m using the color Plaster)
- Waverly Antiquing wax
- paint brushes
Step 1: First, take out the glass and cardboard part of the frame. Paint the entire frame with the waverly chalk paint. Allow to dry and then add a second coat. Allow to dry.
Step 2: Dip the tip of your paint brush into the antiquing was and rub a good bit off onto a paper plate or napkin. Begin to paint the frame with the wax. I like to make my first strokes where I want it to be the darkest. For me, this is on the corners and over the detailing on the frame.
Step 3: Once your frame is dry you can now put the glass back in and add a picture.
