Once again, I want to say that decorating your home does not have to be expensive. I bought a pack of paper plates at the dollar tree and it has made me a TON of garland. I even have left over plates for another craft! You will have to excuse the above picture of the garland, it turns out taking pictures of garland is a lot harder than I anticipated. Just take my word for it, its cute! Let me show you how I made it:

Materials:

    • White paper plates
    • Orange & Yellow acrylic paint
    • paint brush
    • Left over coffee & a bowl
    • cookie sheet
    • Twine
    • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

How to:

Step 1: Fold paper plates into fourths to resemble the shape of a candy corn. Here’s a picture to help guide you.

Step 2: Paint the candy corns. I just painted the yellow and orange parts since the paper plate is already white. Also, be careful when buying your paint. I accidentally bought gloss the last time I made them and didn’t care for it as much.

Step 3: Soak the candy corns in coffee for 10-15 minutes. I went back every few minutes and mixed them so the coffee stained evenly on all candies. Drip as much excess coffee back into the bowl and place candy corns on a cookie sheet. Bake them on the LOWEST  oven setting. Mine was 175 degrees. Bake for about 20 minutes checking every 10 minutes. Wherever you do, do not forget about these as they are paper and could catch fire.

Step 4: Unfold the candy corns one time and punch two holes in the back of each one. Then, take a piece of twine and string them. Space them as you want them and then glue the backs shut. And that’s it! These take a little time to make, but they are super easy and really cute!

Here’s another picture of the final project. Boy was this hard to photograph! Now that I’m looking at it, I probably should have moved my camera down some, oops!
