As I told you in my last post, I am working on using up the supplies I have on hand. Last week I showed you all how to make this up-cycled jean pillow. This week I will be showing you how to make the perfect compliment to that pillow. These pillows looks so adorable together as a set. My favorite part about making these is that they cost me nothing to make because I already had all the supplies to make them on hand. Let me show you how you can make a DIY Patriotic pillow like this for your own front porch!

Materials:

  • Red pillow from Walmart (these are only $5!)
  • Old pair of jeans
  • Thick twine/rope (this can be found at the Dollar Tree)
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Star pattern ( I’m using this star I made at Christmas for a pattern.)
  • Sharpie

How to:

Step 1: Trace the star onto a pair of old jeans and cut it out.

Step 2: Hot glue the star onto the jeans. Fabric glue would work best for this but I am currently out and had to use regular hot glue sticks. They seemed to do the trick. Just make sure to glue the it down good.

Step 3: Hot glue the rope around the star. I think adding this rope really took this DIY up a notch. I think it looks both patriotic and nautical, perfect for summer!
