DIY present for outdoor decorating

Hey, friends! Today I want to show you a really simple craft that my mom made a few years ago. This DIY present for outdoor decorating is the PERFECT way to use up some of those amazon packages. This DIY takes not time at all to make. You can whip these cute DIY presents up and decorate your front porch with them before your husband will ever know you bought anything, haha.

Because I plan to make a few of these, I bought the largest table cloth they had. They were all the same price so I figured why not?! Every year for Christmas we buy a real tree for the front porch. I plan on sticking a few of these DIY presents under it! I think it will look so cute!

I mentioned above that we get a real tree for the front porch. I just love the fun of going to a tree lot and picking out a real Tree but hate the mess inside, so this was our solution to the issue. Plus, Logan has so much fun helping Eric cut cut down the tree! We always let Logan pick the one we get.. we do give him a size limit, though! haha.

Materials:

  • Boxes – any shape or size
  • decorative table cloth – I bought mine at Walmart and it cost $3.98
  • hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • staple gun
  • decorative ribbon
  • Christmas picks
  • bell

How to:

Step 1: The first thing you will want to do is to hot glue the flaps to the box down. This just makes things a little easier when we go to “wrap’ it.

Step 2: Next we are going to “wrap” the box just like we would a Christmas present with the table cloth. Only this time you will want to staple or hot glue rather than tape. I used a staple gun because mine will be sitting outside. Sometimes the freezing cold will cause hot glue to not  hold right.

Step 3: Once the present is wrapped you can now have fun with it. I used decretive ribbon to decorate the “present”. I just  cut two pieces, one for the length and one for the width, and stapled them in place. I then made a cute bow and hot glued it to the center.

Step 5: The very last step is to embellish the present. You all know I like simple, so I just added a pine pick and then a bell to the center of my ribbon.
