DIY Santa belt pillow
This Santa belt pillow was a project I wanted to do last year and ran out of time. I knew it was going to be cute, so I had to make it this year! This is so easy to make and is going to look adorable on the from porch, don’t ya think? Let me show you how to make one of your own:
- 1 placemat – Make sure it is one that has two sides sewn together so it can be stuffed. Mine came from Hobby Lobby
- black felt
- glitter foam sheet
- 1 feather boa
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
Step 1: Measure the felt and cut to the thickness you want for the belt. Because I am using buffalo check, I decided to make the felt as wide as the checks. You want to cut your felt so it is the entire length of the pillow. You may have to overlap it a little.
Step 2: Cut out the buckle to Santas belt out of the foam glitter sheet. I cut out a square that was 5inches X 5 inches. I then folded the square in half and cut out a smaller square. I believe the seller square was about 1 1/2 inches. Just use a ruler and cut what looks nice. You can get a better idea of how I cut mine by watch this VIDEO.
Step3: Hot glue the felt belt across the pillow.
Step 4: Center the glitter buckle that was just cut out and hot glue it onto the pillow.
Step 5: Turn the pillow to the back and cut a small slit up close to the top. Stuff the pillow with poly-fill and then hot glue the hole shut.
Step 6: Take the feathered boa and hot glue it around the rim of the pillow. There are two different types of boas.. I bought the kind that looked more fuzzy and less like a feather. I bought mine at Hobby Lobby.
