Dollar Tree Clip Cup Pumpkin
Watch me! – YouTube (Coming soon!)
Fall is here and with that comes all the pumpkins! I love sitting pumpkins all around in my home. When I saw these paper clip cups at dollar tree I immediately knew I wanted to trans form them into a pumpkin. I also knew that because they were wired a tea light would be the perfect finishing touch for this project. To get the full effect of the cuteness of this DIY please watch this tutorial HERE.
Materials:
- 2 clip cups from dollar tree
- orange chalk paint
- Antique wax
- Paint brush
- pouncer
- Ribbon & raffia for bow
- twine
- Stick
- spanish moss
- battery opperated tea light
- Floral wire
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
How to:
Step 1: Paint both baskets with orange chalk paint. This will take two coats of paint.
Step 2: Once the paint is dry, use a pouncer to pounce on some antique wax. This will make your pumpkin basket look rusty. The best way to do this is to dip the pouncer in antique wax, pounce the majority of it off and then pounce it onto your project.
Step 3: Hot glue a stick to the top of the “pumpkin”. Dollar Tree sales packs of sticks that are perfect for this but you could always just use a stick from the back yard.
Step 4: Hot glue Spanish moss around the bottom of the stick. You can then make a bow and hot glue it to the stick.
Step 5: Take some floral wire and wire the top clip cup to the bottom one and secure. Make sure to do this in the back where it is not visible.
Step 6: Add some Spanish moss or potpourri to the bottom of the clip cup and place a battery operated tea light in it.
