Dollar Tree Easter Hat Door Hanger Idea
This Dollar Tree Easter Hat door hanger is a great way to decorate for spring on a budget. Creating beautiful decor for your home does not have to be expensive. With a few supplies form the Dollar Tree and a little creativity you can have fabulous spring decor with out spending a ton of money. Let me show you how I made this gorgeous farmhouse style spring hat for my front porch spring decor.
Supplies needed:
- Dollar Tree white straw hat
- Ribbon of your choice
- greenery ( Check Dollar Tree and Walmart for cute greenery)
- rusty bell
- hot glue gun & glue sticks
Step 1: Gently pull any ribbons that may be on the hat off. Make sure to save the ribbon because it can always be used for another craft.
Step 2: Glue ribbon of your choice around the base of the hat. Be careful when glueing as there is holes in the hat and the dollar tree hat is also a little flimsy. I found this gorgeous farmhouse style burlap and buffalo check ribbon in my craft stash and thought it was perfect for this project.
Step 3: Add greenery of your liking to the hat. I found some really pretty greenery at Dollar Tree and than added some lavender sprigs that I found at Walmart in with it.
Step 4: Now it’s time to make a bow. I made a larger bow using this beautiful farmhouse buffalo check ribbon and the a smaller bow using the buffalo check and burlap ribbon. I use a pipe cleaner to secure each bow then hot glue the smaller bow to the larger bow to make a gorgeous layered bow for my spring hat door hanger.
(Hot gluing the smaller bow to the larger bow)
Step 5: Glue the bow on the hat where the greenery stems meet. Again, be carful as the hat has holes in it and we all know how hot glue on the finger feels.. ouch!
Step 6: The last thing I did was add a rusty bell to the center of the bows.
