This Dollar Tree foam pumpkin makeover turned out so cute! This is a great way to decorate your home on a budget this fall! Let me show you how to make one of your own!:

Materials

  • Foam pumpkin from Dollar Tree
  • box cutter
  • drop cloth (you can find these at Lowes)
  • Spanish moss
  • 3 leaves (I cut some off a lambs ear pick)
  • wired twine (You can find this at hobby lobby)
  • ribbon
  • hot glue gun & glue sticks

Step 1: Make a small cut in the drop cloth and use your hands to rip it. Your strips should be about 1 inch. Just eyeball it, lol.

Step 2: Cut the center stem out of the pumpkin with a box cutter. Try to stay as close to the stem as possible so you don’t make a huge hole. Your hole should be big enough to stuff some fabric and a stick in there. If you accidentally cut your hole too big don’t panic! Just fill the pumpkin with some scrap paper or napkins.

Step 3: Begin to glue the strips around the pumpkin. I make my strips long enough that they go from one end of the pumpkin to the next. Make sure each strip slightly over laps the next so no orange is showing through. You can get a better idea of how I do this by watching the YouTube video above.

Step 4: One the pumpkin is covered with the drop cloth you can glue a stick in the center hole. I just used a stick I found out in the yard!

Step 5: Add some Spanish moss around the base of the stem and hot glue it in place.

Step 6: Take some wired twine and twist it around a pencil to make curly question. Then take the twine and twist it around the base of the stem.

Step 7: To finish your pumpkin off add a cute bow! I am not the greatest at bows. This was the best I could do, haha.
