How to craft a simple Farmhouse Easter egg nest decoration for spring
I made this cute little farmhouse Easter egg nest decoration almost by accident. I made a hobby lobby run and had those supplies sitting next to my Dollar Tree supplies when, boom.. and idea hit! This cute little craft is so easy to make and very budget friendly! I think you are going to love this one! Let me show you how I made it!
Materials:
- Glass candle stick holder from Dollar tree
- Thick wood circle – Dollar Tree
- Green moss
- half wood beads
- White chalk paint
- Fake birds nest – Hobby lobby
- decorative eggs – hobby lobby
- Min wax stain
- Sand paper
How to:
Step 1: Hot glue wood beads around the side of the circle.
Step 2: Stain the wood circle and beads. I used min wax stain in the color dark walnut. Allow to dry.
Step 3: Paint the candle stick with white chalk paint. You may nee two coats of paint. Dry brush the stained circle and beads with white chalk paint. allow both to dry.
Step 4: Lightly sand the candle sticks. Sand a little heavier around the edges. Dip a foam paint brush in to the min wax, dap some off, and begin to apply the stain around the edges of the candle stick where the paint has been sanded off. Allow to dry.
Step 5: Hot glue the the candle stick to the center of the round wood bead circle.
Step 6: Hot glue the green moss around the rim of the circle.
Step 7: Hot glue the fake birds nest to the center of the circle. You can then hot glue a little green moss in the nest.
Step 8: Arrange eggs the way you want them to look and hot glue in place.
