Easy DIY Jenga Block Snowman Craft

If you’re looking for a simple, budget-friendly winter craft, this little Jenga block snowman is the perfect project! It’s quick, adorable, and a great way to use up scrap fabric and small embellishments you already have on hand. Let me show you how to make one!

Supplies You’ll Need

  • Jenga block (or any wood game block)
  • White paint, and Toasted Terracotta paint (or similar orange)
  • Blush (or pink paint)
  • White paint pen or white acrylic paint
  • Black Sharpie Paint Pen
  • Sanding block
  • Antique wax
  • Paint brush
  • Scrap fabric (for hat + scarf)
  • Hot glue gun + glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Twine
  • Mini snowflake embellishment
  • Small buttons

Step-by-Step Tutorial

Step 1: Paint the Block

Paint the entire Jenga block white.
Let it dry completely before moving to the next step.

Step 2: Distress the Surface

Use a sanding block to gently scuff the block for a lightly distressed, rustic look.

Step 3: Add Antique Wax

Dip a chip brush very lightly into antique wax, then offload (dab off excess).
Lightly brush the wax across the block to give it a soft vintage finish.

Step 4: Make the Hat

Cut a small scrap of fabric wide enough to wrap around the top of the block.
Add hot glue along one edge and fold it over to form the hat brim.
Wrap it around the top of the block and glue it into place.
Trim any extra fabric.

Step 5: Tie & Trim

Wrap twine around the top of the hat and knot it in place.
Trim the excess twine.
Use scissors to trim the hat and create a cute, frayed look.

Step 6: Add a Scarf

Cut another piece of fabric to make a scarf.
Tie it around the snowman’s “neck” and trim to the length you like.
Lightly fray the ends with your scissors for a cozy, worn-in look.
Use a dab of hot glue to hold the scarf in place if needed.

Step 7: Paint the Face of your Snowman

Use a Sharpie Paint Pen to draw on two eyes.

Dip a detail tool into Toasted Terracotta paint and dot on a little carrot nose.

Thicken the eyes if needed and add rosy cheeks with blush.
Use your paint pen to draw a small mouth.
Add tiny white highlights to make the face pop!

Step 8: Add Embellishments

Glue a few buttons down the snowman’s front.

Take a mini snowflake embellishment (from one of our Christmas kits!), paint it white if needed, and glue it to the hat.

Finished Snowman!

You’re done — and isn’t he adorable?!
This little Jenga block snowman is the perfect touch for tiered trays, shelves, or gift giving.
