The other day I made a Facebook showing you all this scrap fabric Christmas tree frame I made a few months ago. Do you remember how I said it would be cute to do carrots for spring? Well, I did just that and it turned out pretty darn cute! This projects was so easy and fun to make, let me show you how:
Materials:
- Picture frame (I bought mine at the Dollar Tree)
- Waverly Chalk paint (I used the color plaster)
- Sanding block
- Scrap book paper
- orange burlap
- raffia
- ribbon
- button (Optional)
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Step 1: Take both the cardboard and glass inserts out. You can dispose of the glass insert as we won’t need it for this project.
Step 2: Paint the frame with chalk paint. Once the paint is dry you can scuff it up by taking a sanding block over it.
(This picture is before I scuffed it up.)
Step 3: Cut out a decorative piece of card stock to the size of the cardboard insert. Hot glue the paper to the insert.
Step 4: Cut a carrot shape out of a piece of orange burlap and hot glue it to the frame.
Step 5: Tie a little bundle of raffia together and hot glue it to the top of the carrot. Next, make a bow and hot glue it where the raffia meets the burlap carrot. I also decided to hot glue a little Botton to the top of my bow to give it a little something extra.
