Fall Decoration using a can
I always say that making beautiful decorations for your home does not have to be expensive. If you learn to think outside the box and use the things you already have on hand, then the options are literally endless. I made this cute little decoration from left over corn on the cob and a can of green beans! Let me show you how!
Materials:
- can
- white chalk paint
- twine
- ribbon
- brown paper tag
- stamp ( I found a pack of leaf stamps at JoAnn fabrics for under $5)
- Dried Corn stalks
How to:
Step 1: First, dry all the corn stalks. The ones I used came from left over corn on the cob. After shucking the corn I laid the stalks out on the porch for a few days to dry. If it’s windy you might want to lay something on them so they don’t blow away.
Step 2: Take any paper off the can and CAREFULLY rinse it out. I stress the carefully part because I have cut my hand pretty good on cans a few times! If they have the pop tops that does not mean it can’t cut you, trust me. Paint the can white and allow it to dry.
Step 3: Stamp a leaf onto to a brown paper tag. Use twine to tie the tag to the top of the can. Make a bow and hot glue it to the top of the tag.
This took me no time at all to make and I really like how it turned out!
