Fall Scarecrow Craft

Meet our adorable scarecrow decoration! Fall is in the air, and there’s nothing like bringing the spirit of the season into your home with this cute DIY Scarecrow. Today, I’m thrilled to introduce you to our newest creation—a charming scarecrow decoration that’s sure to bring a smile to anyone who sees it.

Materials You’ll Need:

How to:

Step 1: Preparing the Wooden Board:

Paint the board with a base coat of brown acrylic paint. This will be the body of your scarecrow. Paint the smaller board which will act as the scarecrows face in the color Lite mocha (or whichever color you like). Let both dry completely.

Step 2: Add the Hat

Cut a piece of denim fabric and wrap it around the top of the board to create the hat. Secure it with hot glue.

Take a few strands of raffle and tie a piece of twine around the top to gather the fabric, trim as needed.

Step 3: Give Your Scarecrow “Hair”

Add some some raffia “hair” under the hat and around the side of the face.

Step 4: Creating Your Scarecrow’s Face

Add two small eyes to the smaller board that was painted with the lite Mocha. You can use the back of a paint brush, paint pouncer or embossing tool to do this. For the nose, paint an orange triangle, I used the color toasted terracotta . Finish the face with a stitched smile in black paint. Add a touch of pink for rosy cheeks to give your scarecrow a look as if he was out in the cold.

Step 5: Add Finishing Touches

Glue the Head of the scarecrow to the body. Once you are finished with your scarecrow you can then add some fun embellishments. I added a fabric bow to the hat, a crow on top of the bow, and a cute pumpkin in the lower left corner. I also cut a cute fabric pocket using the same material as the bow.

 Displaying Your Scarecrow:

Once your scarecrow is complete, find the perfect spot to display it. Whether it’s on your porch to greet guests, in your living room as a cozy autumn accent, or even as a centerpiece for your fall festivities, this adorable scarecrow is sure to be a hit.

Crafting is all about bringing joy and creativity into our lives. This scarecrow decoration is a simple yet delightful project that captures the essence of fall. Plus, it’s a great way to spend quality time with family and friends, creating memories while making something beautiful.

I hope you enjoy making this scarecrow as much as I did. Happy crafting, and may your fall season be filled with warmth and creativity!
