You all know I love me some Dollar tree! Just about every time I go there I am drawn to the picture frames. There’s so many different things that can be done with them. Like these little Framed Burlap Christmas Trees! This was kind of one of those crafts I made just to use up a few left over craft items I had laying around the house. This project was so fun to make and turned out super cute! Let me show you how to make one of your own!

Materials:

  • Picture frame
  • paint if you’d like!
  • paint brush’s
  • mod podge
  • Material scraps ( I used this green burlap)
  • ribbon
  • Seasonal Card stock
  • Sticks from the yard

How to:

Step 1 : The first thing I did was take the picture frame apart and dispose of the glass. I then laid the cardboard piece that is used to stand the picture up and traced it onto my card stock. Cut the card stock out and Mod Podge it to the card board frame. I also painted the picture frame with a white chalk paint.

Step 2: Cut 3 triangles out of the ribbon and Mod Podge it to the card stock. It is best to put the cardboard in the frame first so you get an idea of how to center it. If you are using material instead of burlap you could just hot glue the trees down. I find that when using hot glue on burlap it comes through the holes in the burlap and doesn’t look as nice.

Step 3: The last step is to add ribbon and tree trunks. I made a mistake when doing this, I added the ribbon and trunks and then they did not fit in my frame. SO, to avoid this disaster I recommend putting your cardboard insert in first and then gluing down the ribbon and tree trunks. I just tied a simple bow and hot glues it to the top of my trees. And for the trunks I just cut some sticks down and hot glued them.
