Homemade Brown Sugar Scrub
This is a recipe I came up with by combining a few sugar scrub recipes I found online a few years ago. I always like to keep a few of these hand. They make a perfect Christmas gift for a teacher, thank you gift for a neighbor, birthday gift for a co-worker or a just because gift to a good friend. They are also great to put in an Easter basket 0r to use as a stocking stuffers.
Brown Sugar Scrub Recipe:
1 Cup light brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 cup olive oil
1 Tbsp. peppermint extract
1Tbsp. vitamin E (liquid not capsules)
In a medium size mixing bowl add all ingredients and mix well.
what you will need:
6 mini canning jars
scissors
material to decorate the lids
hot glue gun and glue sticks
and sugar scrub made from above recipe
How I did it:
I first made the sugar scrub and divided it evenly among the 8 mini jars keeping the lids off. Next using the round flat par of the lid I folded my material in half and laid the lid on it and cut the material to the shape of the lid. I fold it in half so I can cut 2 at once, if you have a decent pair of scissors unlike me you could probably fold your material so you can cut all 6 out at once. Next I take a hot glue gun and make a circle of glue around the inside of the rim and I put a dot of glue in the middle of the lid then lay the material on it and press down. Sometimes I find little 3D stickers or make labels to stick or glue in the middle like the jars in the photo. Next just screw your lids on the jars and you are ready to go. P.S. you will want to make a jar for yourself 😉
If you make these let me know what you think 🙂
