How to make a cute Dollar Tree carrot decoration
Hey, friend! I just have to show you this adorable carrot I made using a wood plank from the Dollar Tree and some half beads. This one turned out so cute! You could prop this on a shelf or even use it on a tired tray.Honestly, I think it would be cute just about anywhere! Let me show you how to make a cute Dollar Tree decoration to add to your spring decor.
Materials:
- Wood planks from Dollar Tree
- stain
- orange paint
- Mod Podge
- paint brush
- old rag for stain
- scrapbook paper
- Wood half beads in 4 different sizes ( Here’s my affiliate link to the ones I used HALF BEADS)
- tape
- greenery
- spanish moss
- raffia
- sand paper or sanding block
How to:
Step 1: Stain the front and back of the plank and allow to dry.
Step 2: Trace the wood plank on to the back of the scrapbook paper and cut it out. Mod Podge the scrap book paper to the wood plank and allow to dry. Once it is dry, take a sanding block to the edges. It is best to sand in a downward motion to remove any excess paper.
Step 3: Take a foam brush, dip it in stain, and run it around the edges. This will just help to give a more rustic look.
Step 4: Lay the 4 beads on the sticky side of the tape and paint them orange. Once they are dry, run some stain over them. I just dipped an old rag in stain, wiped some off and then rubbed it on.
Step 5: Lay the beads on the paper how you want them to look and glue them in place.
Step 6: Glue some greenery to the top of the carrot. I find it easiest if I tie the bottom of the greenery together with some twine and then glue it down.
Step 7: Glue some Spanish moss to the top of the carrot.
Step 8: Make s simple bow using raffia and glue it to the base of the carrot.
