Granny’s Baked Beans
Granny’s Baked Beans Pin me – Pinterest Watch me – Youtube Every family has someone who’s famous for that one recipe. In my family it’s my granny and its definitely her baked beans. These famous baked beans are present at all of our family gatherings including my wedding! Everyone who eats these raves about them. I was blessed to have Granny come over and show me all her secrets which I am now sharing with you all! I will warn you though, if you take these baked beans to your next gathering you will unofficially become the baked bean person. Which, actually might not be a bad thing considering…

Aunt Marry’s Apple Dumplings
Aunt Mary’s Apple Dumplings My late Aunt Mary was renowned for her deliciously gooey apple dumplings. Although I’m not a huge fan of apples, or any fruit for that matter, I do love the flaky crust and sticky sauce that surrounds the apple. Give me a warm bowl of that flaky gooey goodness with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and you can consider me a happy girl. A few years after I got married, I was handed this nostalgic recipe and knew I had to give it a try. With fall quickly approaching, what better time to master this recipe? It is truly quite simple to make, if you…

Cheesy Bacon Meatloaf
I wasn’t always a fan of meatloaf growing up if you ever had my mom’s meatloaf you would understand why. Don’t worry, I’m not saying this to be mean, it’s just the truth. If you ask her about her meatloaf she just laughs and says “well, it’s usually hit or miss”. And if she says it’s a miss, then dominos is on the menu. It has become the family joke- make whatever for supper mom just not a meatloaf! I do have to say that meatloaf is about the ONLY thing that woman can’t cook.. well.. and turkey, but that’s a whole different story. ha. Enough about my mom’s meatloaf let’s…

Monster Chocolate Chip Cookies
// Sometimes it’s just fun to eat an obnoxiously big cookie. These cookies are just that! There is no rule that says you HAVE to make them this big, but why wouldn’t you? Sometimes you have to break the rules and make big cookies =P I have been experimenting with these cookies a lot! Here is what I discovered.. If you bake them on an air-bake cookie sheet they get flat, still good, but flat. If you bake them on a dark cookie sheet that is NOT an air-bake they get more on the fluffy side. So it is up to you, do you like flat cookies or fluffy cookies?…

Vanilla Crumb Cake w/ Apple, Walnut, Coffee topping
// Today’s recipe is a simple vanilla box (poke) cake . I jazzed it up by adding a crumb topping, and then adding yet another topping, that consists of apples, walnuts, coffee, brown sugar and cinnamon. This the perfect cake to make for those who do not like icing… my sister being one of those people. The second topping almost reminds me of the yummy, oey, goey, part in a sticky bun.. enough said, right? Lets get to it, shall we?? Vanilla crumb poke cake with an Apple, walnut, coffee topping Ingredients: Cake- 1 box yellow cake mix & ingredients listed on the back of the box to make it…

Sweet and Salty Honey-Comb Crunch
* My inspiration for this recipe came from Trisha Yearwoods Sweet & Saltines recipe. Ok, this recipe is quickly becoming a new family favorite! This stuff is so good.. seriously! Everyone that has tasted it so far has told me that it tastes just like caramel corn but with out the kernels. I am also in love with the fact that this recipe makes a HUGE batch; sure you could cut it in half but once you taste it you won’t want to! Trust me on this one 😉 Enough chit chat lets get to it! Sweet and Salty Honey-Comb Crunch Ingredients: 4 sticks of butter 2 cups of…
