Lazy Crock Pot Apple Dumplings
This recipe is my take on my Great Aunt Mary’s Apple dumpling recipe. I love the fact that I can through all these ingredients into a crock pot and let it cook while I am preparing a holiday meal. One less thing to stress about. =)
Lazy Crock Pot Apple Dumplings
Ingredients:
2 – 8 count cans of cinnamon buns (the kind in the can’s that pop )
1 1/2 Cups light brown sugar
1 1/2 Cups water
1 can apple pie filling
1/2 Cup Crushed pecans
3 Tbsp. butter (melted)
Vanilla Ice cream to go with them
Directions:
Tear cinnamon bun dough in half and roll into balls, through into crock pot. In a small bowl whisk water, brown sugar, and butter, pour in mixture in the crock pot along with apple pie filling and crushed pecans. Turn crock pot on high. Cook for 3 1/2 – 4 hours. Make sure to check at 3 1/2 hours if the cinnamon balls are still doughy cook an additional half hour making sure not to over cook or they will become dry. Serve with Vanilla ice cream.
