No Sew Jean Pillow

As many of you know, my mom cleaned and organized my craft room a few days ago. She told me I had way too much stuff and needed to use what I had before buying new supplies. I agreed and took her advice. My fabric bin, although neat, is still overflowing! There was a pair of jeans that wouldn’t allow the bin to close. I decided those jeans would be the perfect place to start!
All the patriotic holidays are coming up and I need some new pillows for my front porch. So, I decided to turn my old jeans into pillows. I have to say, I am so excited about how this pillow turned out! It was easy to make and looks adorable! Let me show you how to make one of your own:
Materials:
- Old pair of jeans
- ruler
- sharpie
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Thick twine/rope (you can find this at the Dollar Tree)
- Red felt
- white felt
- scissors
How to:
Step 1: First, cut the pant leg the length that you want. Remember to add an inch or two because when you glue and stuff the pillow it will shorten some.
Step 2: Use a ruler to even up the ends of the pant leg. Once they are even cut them with the scissors.
step 3: Flip the jeans so the side you do not want to show is on the outside. As you can see, I prefer the final look of the inside of the jeans so I flipped to the outside. Run your hot glue in a straight line at one of the jean ends to seal it shut.
Step 4: Flip the jeans so that the right side is facing out. You can then begin to stuff the pillow. Stuff the pillow with some poly-fil. If you don’t have poly-fil on hand you can always cut open an old pillow and use that stuffing. Seal the top shut with hot glue. To make this look neat I do a reverse cuff and glue it together that way.
Step 5: Hot glue the thick rope around the edges of the jean pillow.
Step 6: Trace a star onto felt and cut it out. You can use that same one you cut out as a pattern for the other two. I used felt for this project because that’s what I had on hand. Before going out and buying felt look and see what you already have. I think fabric would look cute, burlap, maybe even some handkerchiefs would work! Be creative, friends!
Step 7: Hot glue the felt stars onto the pillow. I recommend laying them where you want them before glueing them down.
