Present ornament
Ok, friends… I legit went to the store just to buy pudding to make these cute present ornaments, haha! I knew the pudding boxes would be the perfect size for them and who doesn’t love some pudding? The only downside to this is that when I go to make the pudding, I will have to google the instructions on how to make it, LOL.
To wrap the pudding box, I used a mens dress shirt that I bought at Goodwill. Men’s dress shirts are awesome for crafting, by the way! Any time I see a cute one, I snag it up for my craft stash. But, before making a special trip, I would look through your hubby’s closet and check for old shirts.
This craft turned out so cute and was very inexpensive to make. I am calling it an ornament, but you could honestly use it for anything! I think it would be really cute to make a few and use them as shelf sitters or on a tiered tray. You could also give them as gifts!
Below is a list of materials you will need to complete this project. If you scroll all the way to the bottom, between the last two photos, you can head over and watch this tutorial on YouTube. If you do, I would love it if you said hi!
Materials:
- pudding box – Or any size box, depending on how big you want to make them
- material – I used a mens dress shirt from Goodwill
- scissors
- twine
- jingle bell
- brown paper – to make a tag
- greenery – I used a small piece off of a pick I bought at Walmart
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
Step 1: The first step is the glue the lid shut.. this just makes things easier when wrapping.
Step 2: “Wrap” the pudding box just like you would a present. Except, this time you will use hot glue rather than tape to hold it in place.
Step 3: Once the present is wrapped, tie it up with twine. I lay my box over the twine, pull both ends of the twine up, criss cross them, then lay them on the other side of the box. I know that probably sound VERY confusing, you can watch the video tutorial to get a better idea of what I’m talking about. It’s much easier then it sounds, trust me!
Step 4: Thread the bell onto the twine and tie a cute bow on the front of the package. I wish that my bell was rusty, but I am working with what I have on hand.
Step 5: I used a piece of brown paper to cut out a “gift tag”. To do this, just cut a rectangle out of brown paper and then cut the corners off at an angle. You can find brown paper at just about any craft store. You could also just use a piece of thin cardboard or maybe even a paper grocery bag if you have one. You can then write something cute on the tag. I wrote Joy =)
Step 6: Finally, glue both the greenery and the tag in place. Just angle them a little so they look super cute!
Step 7: You will only need to do this step if you are making an ornament. Take a piece of twine and loop it through the top piece of twine on the gift and tie a knot. You will then be able to hang this cute little present ornament on your Christmas tree.
