Rudolph Applesauce Cups
Christmas is just around the corner and with that comes snack times at school. I always like to take something that is fun for the kids yet easy for the teachers. I saw many types of these Rudolph applesauce cups online and, although cute, they didn’t seem practical. When making mine I decided to wrap them in a napkin and attach a spoon directly to the applesauce cups. This will give the teachers 2 fewer things to have to pass around the classroom ( spoons & napkins). I also used pipe cleaners and twisty ties as I thought they would be much easier for the kiddos to open than some sort of string or ribbon. And, if you are a busy mom like me, these could certainly be made a month ahead of time if needed.
Materials:
- applesauce cups brand of your choice
- Brown or Gold napkins
- Clear treat bags ( the ones that have an hourglass-like shape will not fit the applesauce cups)
- Brown pipe cleaners
- Red Spoons
- 12 jingle bells
- 12 googly eyes
- red pom poms
- hot glue gun & glue sticks
How to:
Step 1: Sit applesauce cup in the middle of the napkin and bring corners up to meet each other.
Step 2: Slip the napkin wrapped applesauce into a clear treat bag and use twist ties that came with the treat bags to secure.
Step 3: Using a pipe cleaner attach a spoon to the back of the applesauce cups and twist securely in the front.
Step 4: Wrap the pipe cleaner around a pencil to give them a more playful look.
Step 5: Place a jingle bell on the end of each pipe cleaner. Bend the ends of the pipe cleaner down to secure the jingle bells.
Step 6: Using a hot glue gun glue on eyes and pom pom nose.
