We’re going to start with the beard, mustache, and rim of the hat, and tip of the hat. I painted them white using my favorite acrylic paint, Vintage White from Folk Art.

Next I painted the nose pink, then the top of the mug, handle, and holy berries red. I used Flaminco Red for those.

I painted the holly leaves with English Ivy green.

Step: 2 Sand Your Pieces (Optional)

Once all the pieces were good and dry, I took a some sand paper and gave all the pieces a good scuff because I do like the rustic look. If you don’t like this look, you can totally skip this part.

Step 3: Paint Santa’s Face (Part 1)

I used some light mocha paint to give some color to Santa’s face and let that dry.

Step 4: Add Antique Wax (Optional)

I took some antique wax and just brushed that over all the pieces with my blending tool to add to the rustic look. Again, if you don’t like that look, you could definitely skip that step. I used Dixybell Wax color called, “Best Dang Wax”.

Step 5: Paint Santa’s Face  (Part 2)

Next, I dipped the end of a ball embossing stylus into some black paint to add two small dots to my project for Santa’s eyes. The back of a paintbrush or small q-tip would work great for this too. I like to use my ball embossing stylus best to easily get perfect dots.

Then I used some blush on my finger tip and rubbed in some rosy cheeks.

Step 6: Assemble Your Ornament with Strong Glue

It’s time to assemble your ornament, gluing everything in place. First I glued down the rim of the hat and beard. Next comes the mustache on top of the beard and Santa’s nose on top of that. Next, glue the white tip of the hat in place and the holly leaves and berries on top.

Step 7: Tie a Ribbon for Hanging

Lastly, I strung a strip a fabric through the top of the ornament to be able to hang it. Please keep in mind that the fabric ribbon is not included in your kit so you can choose anything you like!
