Tumbling Tower mini pumpkin ornaments
These Tumbling Tower mini pumpkin ornaments are just the cutest! You could hang them on a small fall tree or put a magnet on the back for the refrigerator. Either way, they are adorable and so fun to make! Let me show you how:
Materials:
- Tumbling tower wood block game from Dollar Tree
- white chalk paint
- antique wax
- sandpaper
- small stick
- floral wire
- twine
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
How to:
Step 1: Paint all the tumbling tower blocks white. 3 blocks will make one square pumpkin and one block will make a more rectangular pumpkin. Scroll to the bottom of this page for a better idea of this so you know how many blocks you want to paint.
Step 2: For the larger square pumpkins you will need to hot glue 3 of the tumbling tower blocks together. When I do this I try to off set the blocks to give the pumpkin some character.
Step 3: Sand the pumpkins. Really focus on the edges when doing this.
Step 4: Paint the pumpkins with antique wax. To do this I dip my paint brush in the antique wax, brush some off, and then paint it onto my pumpkins.
Step 5: Wrap the floral wire around a pencil to get it to look curly. Next, wrap the wire around the stick and hot glue the stick to the top of the pumpkin. I won’t lie, this part can be a little tricky!
Step 6: Tie a twine bow around the base of the stem. I used a little hot glue to hold the bow in place.
Step 7: Using the twine, make a little loop to hang the pumpkin and hot glue it to the back. You now have a cute ornament to hang on a fall tree! If you don’t want to make it an ornament try hot gluing a magnet to the back for a cute magnet!
