Upcycled Dollar Tree Pumpkin Snowman Head
Upcycled Dollar Tree Pumpkin Snowman Head
This upcycled Dollar Tree Pumpkin Snowman head is the perfect decoration if you are on a budget this year. It is super easy to make and looks adorable! Not to mention they would make awesome gifts! Let me show you how to make them:
Materials:
- Foam pumpkin from Dollar Tree
- Drop Cloth (You can find this at most home-improvement stores with the paint)
- Snowman hat ornament from Dollar Tree
- spanish moss
- 2 buttons for eyes
- orange paint and paint brush
- Black fabric marker ( A fine-point sharpie might work for this, also.)
- Blush
- Q-Tip
- box cutter
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
How to:
Step 1: Pull the stem out of the pumpkin and set aside. Using a boxcutter cut a hole in the top of the pumpkin.
Step 2: Cut a piece of drop cloth large enough to cover the pumpkin. The best way to figure this out is to sit the pumpkin in the middle of the material and pull it up around the pumpkin.. this will give you an idea of how big to cut the material. After the material is cut, sit the pumpkin in the middle and begin to hot glue the material to the pumpkin. Do this by pulling the material firmly against the pumpkin, tuck it in the cut hole, and hot glue. You can get a better idea of how to do this by watch this TUTORIAL.
Step 3: Glue some spanish moss to the top of the pumpkin to cover up the hole you made. Next, hot glue the top hat ornament in the center of the showman’s head.
Step 4: Hot glue two buttons in place for the eyes.
Step 5: Paint the stem you pulled out earlier orange. It may take up to 4 coats to get full coverage. Once the paint is dry, stick the stem directly in the pumpkin where you want the nose to go.
Step 6: Using a fabric marker, draw a mouth on the snowman. If you don’t have a fabric marker, a fine point sharpie may work!
Step 7: Rub a Q-tip in some blush and apply in a circular motion on both sides of the snowman for cheeks.
